What a Lovely Weekend,,,

Good Morning,, Wow what a beautiful weekend we had here in North Florida,,the weather was outstanding. Saturday our EGA chapter Duclay had a class on how to make a cube-it..and we had such a great turn out. It was alot of fun, but before the class we all meet at a cute little place called Honey B's for lunch. The atmospher was great as was the company and the food, it was funny while we were sitting there waiting to order and get our food we where talking and carring on,,as soon as our food came we all got so quite,,a couple of people mention it how funny it was that food had shut us up... Then after lunch it was over to the Orange Park Library for our class, but to our surprise the teachers which were Carol Presley,Carol Raley and our Teacher Linda Ferguson brought a trunk show of some of there finished products, and let me tell you the pictures don't do them justice,,and all of the pieces where sitting on finished samplers,,there was over 1 on 40ct,,everything there was just beautiful. We were all in awe over everything..Then we had to get down to business, and it was fun, we all had a good time. I now know how to make a proper cube-it. We also had a special appearence by Cathy who owns Inspired needle- http://www.inspiredneedle.com/. I did finish mine that night at home, as you can see in the last set of pictures,,I had fun doing it and loved how it turned out,it will not be my last. Hello,,

I am still here just been real busy making presents,cleaning and with only 1 week left before Christmas I better start on the baking,,but first I would like to tell you we had our EGA Christmas party this past Saturday, and I had a fabulous time. It started out in a cute little Tea Shop in downtown Riverside Florida, and it was perfect. In the first 4 pictures are some of the lovely ladies in our EGA, then the next one is what I had for lunch Tomato and Basil quiche with tomato herb soup, I also tried a new tea Prince of Whales and that was awesome..

Then after lunch we proceeded to this beautiful house for our party,,one of the ladies works here Thanks Melody,,and it was the perfect setting..and then the other pictures are of a House that is on the same street known as the castle house where 2 sisters live,, and a picture of the street it is just beautiful in this area on the St Johns river. And we did get some stitching done, infact I finished mine that I have been working on forever..Pictures to come soon. Well I will leave you here, I hope you all have a wonderful week.

New Stitch Markers in Shop

I hope this day finds you all well it is sunny and beautiful here in north Fl, and I have all my windows open and a gentle breeze coming thru and my scentsy burner is going with Christmas cookie in it and boy does it smell good,,I will be glad when all this updating the shop and gift making is done so I can get back to stitching,,,I am having major withdraws,,,but here is a taste of what is new in the shop I have added 4 new sets today,,,there is a dragon set,anchor set, cat and the Christmas set...you can click on the side bar button to get there..well I hope you all have a very productive day,,,Higgs

Time flies...

 

Wow this year just seems to be flying by,,,I have been busy this past month,,and it shows in my lack of blog post sorry...thanks for all the sweet comments I really really do appreciate them...now where to start,,,well I went home to AZ last month to see and visit with 3 of my grand babies and 2 of my sons..and it was a good visit,,I was there for 10 days and it flew by,,and I left cold weather and arrived at hot weather,,and of course when I left AZ it cold cool and Fl got warm,,what gives..oh well I am home now and it is a good feeling..I missed the green and water...I have been busy with crocheting and sewing but none I can show you as they are Christmas presents,,I have not touch any stitching in over a month and I am starting to have withdraws..while I was out in AZ I did make a trip to the Attic as it was my old stopping grounds, sure miss that store and all the wonderful people that work there,,I did pick up a couple of patterns,,couldn't leave there empty handed,,Well I will leave you with pictures,,hope you all are having a wonderful week,,and hoping for a not so long blog break,,,take care and sending hugs..

Sunny Day

As you know I live in the sunshine state, but this past summer you couldn't tell, it rained so much. But the weather has cooled off and the humidity has gone and it has been beautiful here in north Florida. I have been working on some projects some I can't show as they are presents. But I did finish a big one a blanket and I really liked the colors in it, also today me am and my grandson went and enjoy the nice weather here and had a good time at the park. I am flying out to Az for 10 days hoping to hit all my favorite spots the Attic being one of them, so till then keep those fingers moving and enjoy the pictures.

Recipe for Tom Kha soup

I have had request for this recipe, I have taken the basic recipe and added to it,,so here goes my version and I will tell you, you will not be disappointed...

Tom Kha Soup
1 carton of low sodium chicken broth
1 can of coconut milk
1/2 bag of shrimp or 2 boneless skinless chicken breast raw/chopped into nice size chunks
1Tbl of red curry paste
1Tbl of red chile sauce-more if you like it hotter
1/4 c of fish sauce
2Tbl oil
1 small chopped onion
2-3 cloves of garlic chopped
2 lemon grass stalks(white part only)-get this in Asian store
6 slices of fresh ginger-peeled
Chopped fresh basil
1 c of sliced mushrooms

In a soup pan heat oil and then add ginger and lemon grass sauté for 2 minutes then add onion and garlic and sauté another 2 minutes
Add broth,coconut milk,then the rest of the ingredients stirring after each item, bring to boil and turn down heat and simmer till meat is cook,,serve and enjoy.
If you do make it p,ease let me know if you like it or how you change it up..

P.S I forgot to say you don't eat the lemon grass, really tough and if you like ginger you can eat it or take it out also ...

Been busy in the kitchen

This morning I had energy and want to bake something so cranberry scones it was and it was the day to make my Tom Kha soup, I have been making this soup every week for the last 5 weeks it is so good and addicting, and now I have my neighbor craving it. I also started another scarf this one is Christmas present. Well I hope you all are having a great week so far. Till next time take care and keep those fingers moving.

Hello everyone,,hope this finds you all well and happy that the weather is finally cooling off and the leafs are starting to change well at least somewhere they are changing just not here in Florida yet,,,I have been doing a little stitching and a little sewing,,the drawstring bags are up in my etsy shop,,,and I am hoping to get the cowboy picture done by this weekend,,this momma got her a ipad and that has been taking my time away from other more important things. Good Morning,
It is a bright and sunny morning here in north east Florida and I can tell cool weather is on its way yeahhhh. We are off to the mall to get a accessory for our iPads and to look around. But I just wanted to pop in here to wish you all a Happy and Enjoying day, and may you be blessed in everything you do today. And I am hoping this coming week will be very productive for you, I am challenging myself and anyone else that wants to join me to do at least 1 hour of some kind of craft a day, I know I slacked off last week and Christmas is only 100 days away,,well till next time sending hugs and smiles your way.
